The National Republican Guard warned of an escalating danger of rural fires in the coming days, with several municipalities across the country likely to reach very high and extreme risk levels. This situation is due to temperatures exceeding 35 degrees forecast for the start of next week, weather conditions that significantly increase the risk of ignition and spread of rural fires.
The security force called on the public to adopt preventive behaviors and avoid practices likely to cause fire, emphasizing the importance of prevention during this high-risk period.
Since the beginning of the year through September 6, the GNR recorded 7,034 rural fires and proceeded with the detention of 172 suspects. According to the data released, 52.5% of rural fires originated from negligent human behavior, demonstrating that a significant portion of incidents could have been avoided through the adoption of appropriate preventive measures.
