Lando Norris conquered the privileged starting position, the so-called "pole position", at the Spanish Grand Prix of Formula 1. The British driver achieved the best time in qualifying, thus securing the first position on the starting grid for the race.
After the conquest, Norris considered it one of the best laps of his entire career in Formula 1. The feat was particularly impressive given the context of the qualifying session.
The driver Norris managed to overcome was Andrea Kimi Antonelli, from Mercedes. Antonelli was strongly highlighted during the qualifying session and seemed to be settled in pole position before Norris had completed his impressive lap.
Furthermore, Antonelli is the current leader of the drivers' standings, which makes Norris' conquest even more significant, having managed to overcome the driver who occupies the championship lead.
