Helena Leal, councilor with the Education portfolio at the Funchal City Council, reaffirmed today the municipality's commitment to the goal of transforming Funchal into a Learning City. The statement was made at the opening of the III edition of the Funchal Education Seminar, which took place at Escola Secundária de Horácio Bento de Gouveia.
In her speech, Helena Leal highlighted that the municipality's educational policy is based on three fundamental pillars: inclusion, participation, and the creation of opportunities for children and young people.
This edition of the seminar comes within the scope of the municipality's strategy to reinforce its positioning as a Learning City, a concept that promotes education as an instrument of social and territorial development.
The Funchal City Council thus maintains its commitment to valuing education as a priority, seeking to ensure that all young people have access to better opportunities for learning and development.
