The Municipality of Fornos de Algodres will celebrate its Municipal Holiday on September 29, with a program that begins on Sunday, September 27, and includes activities of culture, tradition, sports, heritage and fellowship. The program was prepared to bring together tradition and culture with new ways to promote and enhance the territory.
One of the central moments takes place on September 27, at 4:30 PM, at the Municipal Market, with the public presentation of the project "Expresso do Alto Mondego", a new tourism and cultural enhancement initiative based on the history, heritage and identity of the Alto Mondego. The Mayor, Alexandre Lote, highlighted that the connection to the railway is part of the region's history and can represent a future opportunity through tourism.
On the same day, September 27, the II Cyclo-tourism Ride takes place, a Fellowship Lunch organized by the Brotherhood of Nossa Senhora da Graça, the performance of the group Farra Fanfarrra, the lighting of the Town Hall at 8:00 PM and, at 9:30 PM, a concert by José Cid at the Municipal Market, presented as one of the great moments of the program.
On September 29, Municipal Holiday, the program includes Mass followed by Procession at 10:30 AM and a concert by Quarteto Aquila and the Music Academy of Fornos de Algodres at 6:00 PM, at the Main Church of São Miguel.
