The voting for the proposals of the Young Participatory Budget of Oliveira do Hospital 2026 begins on September 14 and runs until October 3, exclusively through the online platform Participa.gov. This is an initiative of the Municipality of Oliveira do Hospital that allows young people to identify and propose projects considered of interest for the municipality.
This year there are eight applications in voting, with projects from different areas to be developed in various parishes of the municipality. The two most voted proposals will be approved, each receiving the amount of 5,500 euros. Additionally, the most voted proposal may receive up to an extra thousand euros upon presentation of proof of expenses.
The voting process is aimed at citizens aged between 16 and 35, who are workers, students, residents, or natives of the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital. Citizens registered in one of the parishes can vote using their Citizen Card or Digital Mobile Key, while non-registered citizens who are natives, students, or workers in the municipality need to pre-register to obtain an access code.
Among the eight proposals are projects such as the AirBadminton Arena, the creation of a social space on the ESTGOH campus, an outdoor fitness circuit in Ervedal da Beira, the acquisition of adapted tennis tables for wheelchairs, musical instruments for the ESTGOH music groups, the completion of the Astronomical Observatory of São Gião, the Carnival of the Parish of Seixo da Beira, and the Resilient Communities project. The Municipality intends, with this initiative, to promote more participatory local management and foster the exercise of active citizenship among young people.
