Reporter SABADO revealed images of accidents that occurred at the aprons of Portuguese airports, where heavy vehicles are being driven by workers who only have a light vehicle driving license. The investigation shows that this situation represents a significant security risk at national airports.
The complaint covers the three airports on mainland Portugal: Porto, Faro and Lisbon. The captured images show dangerous situations involving heavy vehicles in the airport circulation areas, driven by workers without the legal authorization required to operate this type of vehicle.
ANA Aeroportos, responsible for managing the airport space, responded to the complaint stating that it is complying with the law. However, the workers involved guarantee that no one assumes the order to drive these heavy vehicles in writing, creating a situation of undefined responsibility.
The investigation was broadcast at 9:40 PM on the NOW channel, presenting visual evidence of the accidents and exposing the discrepancy between what ANA publicly declares and what workers report about the practice on the ground.
