The National Police arrested eight people in Ceuta following a night of intense violence in the city. The incidents included violent robberies, threats and brawls between different groups.
The main groups involved are locals, migrants established in Ceuta and migrants newly arrived in the city. The arrested are suspected of trying to extort and threaten the migrants who have just arrived.
Two people were injured with bladed weapons during the confrontations. One of the victims remains hospitalized, while the other has already been discharged.
The situation reflects the growing tension at the southern Spanish border, where Ceuta has been the scene of significant migratory pressure, creating an environment of insecurity for both the new arrivals and the local population.
