REGION: ULS Viseu Dão-Lafões expands scope of action of mental health support teams

SAPO Notícias12 September 2026 at 10:16

The Local Health Unit (ULS) Viseu Dão-Lafões announced this Friday that it is expanding mental health home support teams to three more municipalities. This expansion represents a significant strengthening of mental health support services in the region.

The mental health support teams are currently operating in the municipalities of Vouzela, Oliveira de Frades, São Pedro do Sul and Castro Daire. With this measure, the aim is to extend activities to Vila Nova de Paiva, Sátão and Aguiar da Beira.

The announcement was made by ULS Viseu Dão-Lafões itself, the entity responsible for managing health services in the region. This expansion is part of an effort to increase accessibility of mental health care to the population of the covered municipalities.

Why this matters

This expansion allows more residents of the Viseu Dão-Lafões region to access mental health care in the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need to travel to more distant health facilities. The measure follows the current service provision in the four initial municipalities and aims to address gaps in access to mental health care in the region.

Templus requests the withdrawal of the Royal Decree on data centers and the reopening of dialogue

The Portuguese company Templus submitted a comprehensive amendment to the draft Royal Decree aimed at regulating data centers in Spain, requesting the Spanish government to withdraw the current text and initiate a new dialogue with the industry. The company submitted 23 specific allegations, including the need to protect already authorized projects, raise the limit from 1 MW to 10 MW in applicable obligations, and reevaluate the requirement of 80% coverage by new renewable generation per hour. The move comes after the close of the public hearing period on September 10, in a context of growing discontent among operators, investors, and administrations. The government justifies the intervention due to the rapid growth in electricity capacity requests, with more than 6 GW granted since the end of 2023, expressing concern about the impact on electrical capacity intended for other uses.

⛽Diesel rises again without hitting record highs, but petrol drops next week

Next Monday, diesel will rise by two cents per liter in Portugal, while gasoline drops by four cents, according to ANAREC, taking into account the ISP discounts already announced by the Government. Prices should be around 2.132 euros per liter of diesel and 2.06 euros per liter of simple 95 gasoline, but still not hitting the maximum levels recorded in April. Since the attack on Iran, diesel has accumulated a rise of 49.4 cents and gasoline of 35 cents. The Executive increased the ISP discount on both fuels, in a mechanism that returns the VAT increase through tax reduction. Brent oil fell 2.81% on Friday to 104.61 dollars per barrel, and a pipeline in Saudi Arabia was closed preventively after drone attacks.
