Scalabitana judoka Filipa Galache, native of Santarém, will represent Portugal at the Balkans Open, taking place between September 8 and 14, in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The athlete competes in the Under-18 category, in the -52kg division.
In an interview with Correio do Ribatejo, Filipa Galache revealed the pride she feels in bringing the colors of the Ribatejo region beyond borders. The young Scalabitana athlete expressed satisfaction in representing her homeland territory in an international competition.
The athlete from Santarém maintains a special bond of complicity with her father, who is also her coach. This family connection appears to contribute significantly to her sporting journey and competitive motivation.
