Between September 1 and 4, the 2026 edition of the Advanced Workshop on Agricultural Notifications was held at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva. Twenty-nine government officials from developing and least-developed WTO member countries participated in the event, which aimed to enhance participants' understanding of the transparency requirements established under the Agreement on Agriculture.
During the workshop, participants not only discussed the challenges faced in implementing notification obligations but also shared experiences and good practices. The meeting was a response to the growing demands for greater transparency in agricultural policies, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in promoting fairer and more informed trade standards.
The event featured experts from the WTO and other international organizations, who provided guidance on how countries can improve their notification capacities. The officials involved expressed gratitude for the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and strengthen their countries' capacity to meet international trade regulations.
