More than half a century after his death, Celestino Graça will receive, posthumously, the Golden Key of the City of Santarém, the highest distinction awarded by the Municipality. The tribute ceremony is scheduled for March 19, 2027.
Celestino Graça was an ethnographer, agricultural regent and cultural promoter. His work and trajectory will thus be recovered for the center of the city's memory, after decades of absence from official municipal recognition.
With this distinction, Celestino Graça will stand alongside other figures of great prestige, such as Salgueiro Maia and Joaquim Veríssimo Serrão, who also received the Golden Key of the City of Santarém.
The initiative represents a tardy recognition of Celestino Graça's contribution to the culture and memory of the municipality, bringing back to the public spotlight a man whose cultural and ethnographic action left marks on the region.
