The Chega parliamentary group in the Assembly of the Republic asked the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, José Manuel Fernandes, that the support announced by the Government to compensate for the increase in fuel costs also be applied to farmers and fishermen in Madeira and the Azores. The party considers that support measures should cover all national territories.
In a press release, Chega stated that the Government decided to maintain until December 31 the extraordinary discount of 10 cents per liter on colored diesel intended for the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors. This measure aims to compensate for the increase in fuel costs for these professionals.
The party led by André Ventura argues that farmers and fishermen in the autonomous regions should not be excluded from these supports, defending the need to apply the same support conditions to all Portuguese territories. The request was directed directly to Minister José Manuel Fernandes.
