The Local Health Unit of Tâmega and Sousa (ULSTS) organized a meeting in Penafiel dedicated to Physiotherapy, bringing together professionals and students in the field. The main objective of the event was to discuss innovation in professional practice, clinical challenges faced in daily life and the integration of Physiotherapy at different levels of health care.
During the meeting, new practices and methodologies that are shaping the future of the profession were addressed, as well as issues related to the organization and provision of physiotherapy care. Participants had the opportunity to reflect on how Physiotherapy can respond more efficiently to the needs of users in the various contexts of the health system.
The ULSTS event comes in the context of a growing appreciation of Physiotherapy as a fundamental discipline in rehabilitation and health promotion. The integration of the profession at different levels of care was one of the central themes of the discussions, highlighting the importance of a coordinated and transversal approach in the provision of services to patients.
