From October 15, passengers wishing to take a taxi at Lisbon airport will have to pay a minimum fare of 16 euros. The new price schedule takes effect on that date and establishes a mandatory minimum value for trips departing from the airport.
The measure comes as part of a reorganization of access to the airport's arrivals area. Only authorized taxi vehicles will be allowed to drive and stop in that area, which means passengers will have to use exclusively these licensed services to board directly at the arrivals terminal exits.
This change represents a significant shift in how travelers arriving at Lisbon airport choose to continue their journey by taxi. The mandatory minimum fare aims, according to the rationale behind the measure, to ensure greater regulation and control of road transport services at the country's main airport.
