The Rio de Janeiro club has the difficult mission of winning away from home for the first time in the competition to get a small breather in the standings.
Midfielder Alan Lescano, newly signed and listed for the match, became the 12th foreigner in Vasco's squad. With this, the club matches Botafogo as the Série A team with the most foreign players, forming a true foreign legion in the squad.
With the transfer window closing on Friday, Vasco bet on the Argentine trio Facundo Colidio, Santiago Sosa, and Lescano as the main signings of the market, after failing to complete the arrival of Richarlison. The Argentines arrived with higher expectations for coming from a more recognized league. In addition to them, Brazilians Bruno Duarte and Gabriel Pereira were also hired to address obvious gaps in the squad.
