The British band Jamiroquai closed the Sunset Stage programming at Rock in Rio this Friday (11), delivering a spot-on hit-filled show after nearly 10 years away from the Brazilian audience. Vocalist Jay Kay, known for his eccentric style, took the stage amid a day dedicated to K-Pop at the festival, being described by the critic as "half unicorn" among the genre's performances.
The group's return to Brazil carried a particular expectation, as the band's previous appearance at Rock in Rio's World Stage in 2011 was considered lukewarm and uninspiring. On that occasion, Jay Kay reportedly did not show the same enthusiasm seen at this edition of the festival.
The band faced a break in 2017 due to the singer's back injury, gradually resuming their activities after the pandemic. This time, the critic noted that Jay Kay, described as a Capricorn who is "all or nothing," seemed to be in the spirit of the show, with his back in good condition.
The spectacle gathered over 25,000 people, who eagerly awaited the legendary British band's performance, confirming Jamiroquai's successful reunion with their Brazilian audience.
