Supreme Court (STF) President, Justice Edson Fachin, decided to lift the secrecy of the Banco Master case. In the ruling, Fachin determined that the reporting justice, Justice André Mendonça, release the full set of inquiries, petitions, and complaints, keeping under seal only materials from ongoing investigations whose disclosure could compromise the proceedings.
Initially, Mendonça made 14 proceedings public. However, it raised eyebrows that secrecy was maintained over the investigations related to the film "Dark horse," a biopic of Jair Bolsonaro, and over the alleged relationship between Senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA) and Augusto Ferreira Lima, a former partner of Banco Master.
Fortunately, Fachin resolved the issue by demanding the release of all remaining documents. The article assesses that this was the correct course of action, considering that Mendonça's initial decision was inconsistent in keeping only some specific proceedings under seal.
