The Public Security Police (PSP) detects on average 28 drivers per day driving under the influence of alcohol on Portuguese roads. This data refers to the number of infractions registered by the PSP related to driving under the influence of alcohol.

The PSP is the police force responsible for security in a large part of the Portuguese territory, including the main cities and urban roads. Traffic enforcement falls under its responsibilities of maintaining public order and crime prevention.

Driving under the influence of alcohol constitutes a serious infraction in Portugal, punished with fines, suspension of the driving license and, in the most serious cases, crime of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level equal to or greater than 1.2 g/l.

Correios go to TST against workers' strike

The Correios management filed a collective bargaining dispute request with the Superior Labor Court to declare the workers' strike as abusive and guarantee the continuity of services. The strike began on Thursday due to the lack of agreement on salary adjustments, and since the TST's mediation attempts were unsuccessful, the court will arbitrate the salary increase and social clauses. The state-owned company fears that the strike may affect the company's restructuring plans, which include obtaining a R$ 7 billion loan from banks, with Treasury guarantee. Correios reported that they have reinforced operations to maintain services and that the service network remains open.
