Five women were injured, this Friday, September 11, as a result of an accident that occurred during a grape harvest in the parish of São Brás de Alportel, in the Algarve. The accident involved a raft used for transporting grapes, which struck the women during the harvesting operation.
Two of the injured women are in serious condition, having been taken to hospital units for medical treatment. The remaining three women suffered minor injuries.
The accident occurred during the grape harvest, which is the grape picking season, a traditional activity in the Algarve region. The raft is a means of transport frequently used in vineyards to facilitate the movement of grapes and workers between the rows of vines.
