Although colorfulness is one of the hallmarks of k-pop culture, the tribute of this fifth day of Rock in Rio, many fans of the Korean genre showed up in black at the festival. The sea of people in a more gothic style makes one remember metal day at the event, held last Saturday.

The phenomenon has explanations. One of them is that the fans' style is influenced by the bands, and Stray Kids, the main act on this Friday, has black among its official colors.

According to digital marketing specialist Dieyne Jacomasse, 24 years old, Stray Kids has a heavier identity than usual and expected for a k-pop group, with strong influence from rock. That's why fans usually dress in black, red and with chains.

The specialist also highlights that many metal fans migrated to k-pop precisely because of Stray Kids. She herself is a big fan of rock and metal and ended up liking the band because of the similarity in sound.
