The fifth day of Rock in Rio happened this Friday, with K-pop as the main genre of the festival. The band Stray Kids was the attraction responsible for marking the presence of the Korean rhythm at the event. The gates of the Olympic Park, in Barra da Tijuca, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro, opened at 2 PM, and a large number of fans of the genre invaded the festival arena.
The aesthetic of K-pop fans, known as K-poppers, drew a lot of attention at the event. The colorful look is marked by hair, nails, makeup and clothes in vibrant tones. The outfit also includes characteristic accessories of the community, such as lightsticks, luminous light sticks used during shows, and photocards, cards with photos of the idols that function as indispensable amulets for fans. Plush bears, official mascots of artists of the genre, are also part of the look.
Among the fans present, a young woman stated she was inspired by Lee Know, a dancer from Stray Kids. She explained that she shares with the artist a passion for dancing, and that is why he is her favorite. The article was cut, but it makes clear the level of emotional connection that K-pop fans maintain with the artists.
