President of the Guimarães City Council defends collective responsibility in urban cleaning

The president of the Guimarães City Council, Ricardo Araújo, defended that improving the quality of public space requires a continuous evolution of urban cleaning services coordinated with greater civic awareness and individual accountability of citizens.

This position was expressed during the 8th edition of the National Urban Cleaning Meeting (ENLU), an event that brings together professionals and managers responsible for urban cleaning in Portugal.

Ricardo Araújo highlighted that the quality of public space depends both on the work carried out by municipal services and on the responsible behavior of each citizen.

The meeting provided a moment for reflection on the challenges of urban cleaning and strategies to address the problems associated with lack of civic-mindedness and degradation of public spaces.
