Nashville's main airport in Tennessee, United States, will be renamed in honor of Dolly Parton, one of the country's biggest country music stars. The change was approved unanimously during a vote by the Nashville Metropolitan Airport Authority.
The airport authority explained that a final name has not yet been determined, but that it is working closely with relevant parties to decide how Dolly Parton's name and legacy will be incorporated.
Dolly Parton died at 80 on August 25 after a brief battle with cancer. The death was announced by her nephew, Bryan Seaver. The artist was considered an icon of the LGBTQIAPN+ community in the United States.
