Since then, various security measures have been implemented that previously did not exist or were not as rigorous. These changes profoundly affected the experience of flying, completely transforming the way passengers and luggage are checked at air terminals. Many of the restrictions and security procedures that are now considered normal in civil aviation are a direct result of the need to prevent new terrorist attacks.
