The party Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) announced the intention to request the constitution of a Parliamentary Inquiry Committee (CPI) to investigate the Luís Neves case. The proposal was presented by deputy Filipe Sousa in the Assembly of the Republic.
The CPI aims to scrutinize the administrative procedures related to the case, as well as the existing internal control mechanisms. It is also intended to analyze the exercise of governmental powers of monitoring and oversight over the Judicial Police during a specific period that is not fully specified in the article.
Filipe Sousa, as a JPP deputy, is the main driving force behind this parliamentary initiative. The party argues that an in-depth scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding the Luís Neves case and the oversight practices over the PJ is necessary.
