Metro de Lisboa announced this Friday that it will make available a new telephone assistance service to provide help to those who wish to use the elevators but cannot. The customer support line will be placed next to the elevators that are outdoors and on the boarding platform, reinforcing assistance for passengers who need help during their journey.
Through the dedicated number, customers will be able to contact directly the operational team at the station where they are to request support related to the use or unavailability of an elevator, obtain information about alternative routes or request other assistance needed to continue the journey. The measure aims to improve the service especially for customers with reduced mobility.
The operation is simple. Next to the elevators, a sticker will be placed with the telephone number, the specific metro station code and the necessary instructions to call the number 965 980 000. Then, the customer must enter the station code indicated on the sticker so that the call is routed to the operational team on site, who will take care of helping with an alternative route, for example.
The new service will operate every day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, between 06h30 and 01h00. The creation of this channel integrates the work that Metro de Lisboa has been developing to improve accessibility and the customer experience, according to the public company led by Cristina Vaz Tomé.
