Licensed works in Portugal have been decreasing for four consecutive quarters, according to construction sector data. This downward trend has been maintained consistently over the past year.
When compared to the same period of the previous year, both licensed works and completed works show declining values. This decrease reflects a drop in construction sector activity in the country.
However, the scenario is not entirely negative. The number of housing units destined for habitation showed signs of recovery during the second quarter of this year, which may indicate a gradual recovery in the residential real estate market.
This analysis comes in a context of slowdown in the construction sector in Portugal, where, coexisting with an overall decline in activity, the housing segment is beginning to show some vitality.
