Moraes points out 'selective choice' by Mendonça and asks Fachin to remove secrecy from all documents in the Master case

oglobo11 September 2026 at 16:21

STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes stated on Friday that colleague André Mendonça, rapporteur of the Master and INSS cases, lifted judicial secrecy from the actions only when he deemed it convenient, excluding 180 documents that should have been made public. The statement represents another chapter in the confrontation between the two ministers of the court.

Moraes wrote that Mendonça, "directly interested in the judgment of both PETs 16,704 and 16,662," subjectively selected when to lift secrecy, making public only what suited him. The minister hinted that his colleague acted partially by choosing which files would be made public.

According to Moraes, the selectivity was even greater in the 15 procedures contained in or related to PET 15,556, where secrecy was partially lifted, excluding the 180 documents and hindering the evidentiary analysis of the cases. The complete document appears to be cut off in the final available section.
