The Municipality of Santana decided to exempt young people and emigrants from paying fees for the acquisition of their first home in the municipality. This measure aims to support those who wish to settle or return to the Madeiran council.
The exemption also covers descendants of emigrants who previously resided in the municipality. In this way, the council intends to strengthen family and community ties with the diaspora.
This initiative comes within a set of municipal policies aimed at revitalizing the territory and reversing the depopulation phenomenon that affects various areas of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
