The National Maritime Authority, through the Local Maritime Police Command and the Viana do Castelo Lifeboat Station, provided assistance to three people last night off the coast of Viana do Castelo.
The assisted individuals were two of Spanish nationality and one of Swedish nationality, aged between 25 and 40.
These three people had previously been rescued by a merchant ship, following an emergency situation that is not specified in the statement.
The assistance operation took place in the coastal area of Viana do Castelo, with coordination between the Maritime Police and local maritime rescue services.
