Minister André Mendonça, from the Brazilian Supreme Court, ordered the opening of an inquiry to investigate the role of PL presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro in the financing of the film "Dark Horse," which tells the story of former President Jair Bolsonaro. The investigation had been previously revealed, but the focus on Flavio's specific participation came to light with the unsealing of the Master case.
The inquiry remains under seal by Mendonca's determination, as there are still ongoing actions conducted by the Federal Police and the Attorney General's Office. The investigation examines the alleged crimes of money laundering, currency evasion, and corruption involving the film production.
Flavio Bolsonaro denies all alleged irregularities and states that all resources used in the film were of private origin. The PL presidential candidate, however, did not provide details about the specific origin of these resources or about who the other funders of the production were.
