Fuel prices in Portugal will register significant changes this week. Diesel will rise 5 cents per liter, while gasoline will decrease by the same value. This divergence in prices arises in a context of tension in international energy markets.
Brent quotations have soared to 110 dollars per barrel, which directly influences fuel prices. This increase in crude contrasts with the expected drop in gasoline pump prices.
The quotations have not yet been closed at the end of the day, but preliminary estimates already allow anticipating these opposite trends between the two types of fuel. Confirmation of the final values will only be made at the end of the day.
The final fuel values will be influenced by the ISP discount, the Excise Duty on Petroleum Products, which has been used as a fiscal policy instrument to mitigate the impact on consumers.
