Primark inaugurated a new store in Setúbal, south of Lisbon, at Alegro Setúbal Shopping Center. The space occupies approximately 1,600 square meters on the first floor, located next to the Auchan supermarket, and received its first customers on Thursday, September 10. The ceremony was attended by Bruno Russo, councilor of the Setúbal City Hall, who accompanied the company's executives on a visit to the facilities before the official opening.
The opening created more than 50 jobs, according to the same source. Nelson Ribeiro, Primark's sales manager for Portugal and Spain, stated that the inauguration represents a very important moment for the brand's expansion. The Setúbal establishment becomes the Irish chain's 508th store worldwide.
The inauguration is part of an investment plan exceeding 45 million euros announced by the company in May. This program includes the opening of four new stores and the expansion of an existing unit in Portugal, not limited solely to the store now inaugurated in Setúbal.
