Police officers will return to protest from September 22, with a national demonstration scheduled for October that will bring together PSP and GNR professionals. The announcement was made by the Police Professionals Trade Union Association (ASPP), which represents a significant sector of security professionals in Portugal.
The ASPP accuses the Government of not fulfilling an agreement signed two years ago and of continuing to fail to respond to police demands. The unions consider that previous promises were not carried out, which motivates the return to the streets.
The largest PSP union has also launched a public petition demanding more investment in national security. This initiative comes as a complement to the mobilization being organized for the coming months, reinforcing pressure on the executive.
