Fixed taxi price at Lisbon Airport improves service transparency, highlights Turismo de Lisboa

Jornal Económico11 September 2026 at 12:50

The Associação Turismo de Lisboa considered the implementation of a fixed price for taxi service at Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport very positive, considering that the measure reinforces transparency, gives greater security to visitors, and contributes to a simpler and more predictable arrival experience. ATL's director-general, António Valle, emphasized that Lisbon is one of the main tourist entry points in Europe and that it is necessary to ensure that those visiting the city find quality, trust, and professionalism from the very first moment.

A Cooperation and Self-Regulation Protocol for Taxi Service at Humberto Delgado Airport was signed, involving the municipality of Lisbon, the Associação Nacional dos Transportes Rodoviários em Automóveis Ligeiros, the Federação Portuguesa do Táxi, the Associação Turismo de Lisboa, and ANA Aeroportos de Portugal. António Valle stated that the measure benefits everyone, from visitors arriving in Lisbon, residents returning home, and taxi professionals, who now provide a service based on clearer rules.

The voucher system organizes destinations into two zones: on weekdays between 07:00 and 22:00, the price is 16 euros for zone 1 and 19 euros for zone 2. On weekends, national holidays, and during nighttime hours, the amounts rise to 20 or 23 euros. Zone 1 includes parishes such as Alvalade, Areeiro, and Parque das Nações, while zone 2 covers Ajuda, Belém, Benfica, and others. The price indicated on the voucher is fixed and final, with no additional surcharges permitted.
