Flavio Bolsonaro, presidential candidate for PL and current senator, is being investigated in the inquiry that looks into alleged irregularities in the financing of the film "Dark Horse," a production about former president Jair Bolsonaro. The information was revealed when the inquiry into the Banco Master case, involving Daniel Vorcaro, was archived.
The investigation is being carried out at the request of Supreme Court minister Andre Mendonca and is looking into alleged crimes of money laundering, currency evasion, and corruption. The initial request for the investigation was made by the Federal Police, with the approval of the Attorney General's Office.
Flavio Bolsonaro has always denied any irregularity, stating that the resources used for the production of the feature film were all of private origin. The candidate requested a total of 131 million reais from Vorcaro for the production of the film.
The spreadsheets discovered by the Federal Police indicate that at least 60 million reais were actually transferred as financing for the film production. The Federal Police had requested the opening of a separate confidential investigation to look into the possible practice of the mentioned crimes.
