Braga: Rua Engenheiro Vilalobos closes to traffic from Monday

Rua Engenheiro Vilalobos, located in Lamaçães, Braga, will be closed to traffic and car parking from Monday. This closure is due to a repaving project with an expected duration of 17 days.

The restrictions begin on September 14 and will be implemented in phases. In addition to Rua Engenheiro Vilalobos, the closure will also cover a section of Rua Nova de Santa Cruz.

The work aims to repave the road, improving circulation conditions in that area of Lamaçães. During the project period, drivers should use alternative routes to access their homes and destinations in that area of the city of Braga.

Three people rescued in Viana after vessel drifts at sea

Three people, two of Spanish nationality and one Swedish, aged between 25 and 40, were rescued on Thursday night after the high-speed vessel they were on drifted about 60 nautical miles west of Viana do Castelo. The occupants were initially picked up by a merchant ship that also towed the vessel, and were then transferred to maritime authorities two nautical miles from the outer breakwater of Viana do Castelo. The forces mobilized included the Lifeboat Station, Maritime Police, Port Captaincy, Judicial Police and GNR. The three citizens "were physically well" and were identified, while the Spanish-flagged vessel was seized as a precautionary measure.
