Federal Justice made defendants former state deputy TH Joias, Thiego Raimundo de Oliveira Santos, from MDB-RJ, and five others accused of involvement in a scheme of corruption, drug trafficking and smuggling linked to Comando Vermelho, investigated in Operation Zargun. The complaint by the Federal Public Ministry was unanimously accepted by the 1st Section of the Regional Federal Court of the 2nd Region.
In addition to the former parliamentarian, those also made defendants were Gabriel Dias de Oliveira (Índio), Luiz Eduardo Cunha Gonçalves (Dudu), former state secretary Alessandro Pitombeira Carracena, known as Alessandro Carracena, from the Sports Department, and Federal Police delegate Gustavo Stteel.
In the complaint, the MPF pointed to the existence of a stable organization linked to the Comando Vermelho faction that infiltrated members in the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro and in state secretaries to operate in the illegal arms trade brought to communities in Rio de Janeiro from Paraguay.
This is not the only action involving TH Joias related to Operation Zargun, indicating there are other ongoing investigations against the former deputy under the scope of the same operation.
