Minister Andre Mendonca, of the Supreme Federal Court, determined the opening of an inquiry to investigate PL presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro for his role in financing the film "Dark Horse," a production about former president Jair Bolsonaro. The decision was made in July and came to light now after the lifting of secrecy on the investigations of the Master case.
The investigation examines the alleged crimes of money laundering, currency evasion, and corruption. The Federal Police requested the opening of the inquiry, which had the endorsement of the Attorney General's Office. The investigation is linked to INQ 5026.
According to messages seized by the Federal Police, Flavio asked banker Daniel Vorcaro for R$131 million for the film production, of which R$60 million were actually paid, according to spreadsheets seized during the investigations.
Flavio Bolsonaro denies all irregularities and states that all resources used in the film were of private origin. The PL presidential candidate has not yet been heard within the scope of the inquiry.
