Pre-hospital emergency technicians call off strike after agreement with Government and INEM

CNN Portugal11 September 2026 at 12:51

Pre-hospital emergency technicians called off the strike that was scheduled for the 14th and 28th of this month, after reaching an agreement with the Government and INEM.

The professionals had announced the stoppage as a form of protest regarding various labor and professional claims that they believed were not being addressed.

The agreement reached made it possible to unblock the conflict that threatened to affect the functioning of pre-hospital emergency services in Portugal during those days.

With the cancellation of the strike, emergency services should operate normally on the dates initially scheduled for the stoppage.
