Brazil's CNH program recorded a 216% increase in new license requests during the first nine months of operation, rising from 2.3 million applications in 2025 to 7.3 million in 2026. Over 2 million new drivers were licensed during this period. The growth is related to the implementation of new rules for obtaining a driver's license and the creation of a platform that brings together various stages of first-time licensing in a single environment.
Regarding female participation, the number of women who began the licensing process grew by 18%, rising from 1.06 million in 2025 to 1.25 million in 2026, an increase of just over 190,000. The Northeast Region recorded the highest indicator of processes initiated, with 54.7%, followed by the North Region, with 31.9%.
According to the Ministry of Transportation, the program generated savings of nearly R$ 10 billion for drivers, a value that includes the reduction of fee amounts and other expenses related to the licensing process.
