João Pedro, striker from Chelsea, was elected the best player of the month of August in the Premier League. The 24-year-old Brazilian contributed with two goals and two assists in three games, helping the English team win the first two matches of the season. He was also recently called up for the Brazilian national team for the September FIFA window.

The Chelsea player surpassed a list of eight competitors for the award, including Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Mamadou Sangaré (Brentford), Konstantinos Tzolakis (Hull City), and Yoane Wissa (Newcastle).

This is the first time João Pedro receives the best player of the month award in the English Championship. In addition, he becomes the first Chelsea player to win the individual award in almost two years, since Cole Palmer received the trophy in September 2024.

In Chelsea's 3-2 victory against Fulham, in the first round, João Pedro scored a goal and provided an assist, demonstrating his importance for the English team from the start of the season.
