The project "Robots that Play, Minds that Grow", promoted in the kindergartens of the Castro Verde School Grouping, was one of the winners of the fourth edition of the Sonae Educação Award. The project integrates educational robotics and STEAM methodologies, involving children from different socioeconomic backgrounds.

The winners were announced on Thursday, the 10th, at the Serralves Foundation in Porto, during an event that included the conference "Intelligent Education: the future of learning in the AI era". In the "Public Schools" category, the Castro Verde project was one of three winners, receiving an amount of 10 thousand euros.

The project includes activities with "unplugged" proposals, tangible robots and use of screens, integrated into stories and projects developed by the children themselves. Through play, children from three to six years old develop logical reasoning, creativity, collaboration and technological literacy.

The Sonae Educação Award distinguished six projects in total, with an overall value of 150 thousand euros. The selected projects were chosen from over a thousand applications, representing the most participated edition ever.
