AI amplifies bullying: students use it in one in four cases of bullying

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General11 September 2026 at 11:15

Artificial intelligence has spread across classrooms and is also being used by some students to harass, humiliate and attack other students. This is essentially the old school bullying, but now more advanced technologies are used to commit it.

According to a new report by the Mutua Madrileña and ANAR foundations, nearly one in four students, representing 23.5% of the total, uses artificial intelligence to practice cyberbullying.

This number represents an increase of 9.3 percentage points compared to the previous school year, evidencing a growing trend in the use of these tools for aggression among students.
