The CBN commentator, Thássius Veloso, visited the Rock in Rio security center to learn about the technologies used at the event. Among the highlights is a bipedal humanoid robot from the company Yellow Robotics, one and a half meters tall, 35 kilograms, equipped with various sensors and cameras. The robot can assist in dangerous situations at the festival, but for now it is not autonomous — it is remotely controlled through a joystick, similar to video game controllers.
The festival also has autonomous drones that take off on their own from a base called a dock. The equipment follows AI pre-defined routes and alerts security agents when they detect something suspicious. The drone technology is wireless and does not require human operators during flights.
The company Serpro provides a radar system capable of detecting all drones present at Cidade do Rock during the event. The system can identify which drones are authorized and which are intruders, increasing surveillance over the festival's airspace. All this technological apparatus makes up the Rock in Rio security system.
