The public meetings of the Sintra Municipal Council executive will now be held, starting next year, in all parishes of the municipality. The measure aims to strengthen the local authority's proximity to residents and promote greater population participation in the executive's work.
Throughout the year, the meetings will be decentralized across the different parishes of the municipality, allowing more citizens to follow the executive's activities and directly intervene during the period designated for public participation.
The president of the Sintra Municipal Council, Marco Almeida, stated that the decision allows for better planning of municipal services' activity and contributes to a more open, accessible, and territorially comprehensive governance model.
With this initiative, the local authority intends to reinforce a closer, more participatory, and decentralized municipal management, bringing the executive to the different territories of the municipality.
