Heat returns to mark September: temperatures reach 35 degrees before the weekend

SOL11 September 2026 at 09:32

The thermometers will rise again this Friday in Portugal, with emphasis on the North and Center regions of the country, where temperatures could reach 35 degrees. This increase happens before the weekend and represents a return of intense heat after a milder period.

The forecast heat keeps the fire danger high in several areas of the territory. According to the information released, nine municipalities are at the maximum level of fire danger, raising concerns about the risks associated with this weather situation.

This heat wave comes in the month of September, a time when temperatures normally begin to decrease gradually. However, the absence of rain and favorable atmospheric conditions have contributed to keeping the fire risk at concerning levels in several regions of the country.
