The Liberal Initiative (IL) publicly questioned the delay in the completion of Machico's Municipal Master Plan (PDM), calling the situation "unacceptable." A year has passed since the party pointed to the PDM's approval as a priority in its electoral promises, but the document remains unapproved.
The process for drafting Machico's PDM has not yet moved to the public discussion phase, which means the plan is at a very early stage of the procedure. The local authority has failed to meet the deadlines it had set for the document's completion.
IL expressed its displeasure at the lack of progress in drafting the Municipal Master Plan, emphasizing that the promise to prioritize this spatial planning instrument has not been fulfilled. The liberal party hopes the process will advance swiftly to meet the municipality's needs.
