Coimbra is about to get into "trouble" at Mondego: Games Without Borders are coming

Notícias de Coimbra11 September 2026 at 10:15

Coimbra will host the Games Without Borders, the well-known television programme that promises to turn the city into a scene of fun and competition. The event will take place in the Mondego area, taking advantage of the river and its surrounding spaces.

Among the planned challenges are events with seagulls in the Mondego, various obstacles and special trials. One of the activities mentioned involves the letters of Pedro and Inês, probably referring to the famous Portuguese legend linked to the city of Coimbra.

The teams will be made up of boys and girls, maintaining the tradition of the programme of bringing together participants from different European countries in friendly competition. The city's Park will be one of the main settings to host these activities.

The organisation promises that Coimbra will "get into trouble" with the holding of the event, in a humorous reference to the intensity and controlled chaos that characterise the Games Without Borders.
