Diesel exceeds six dollars per gallon for the first time in the USA

SAPO Notícias11 September 2026 at 10:12

American diesel reached a new all-time high today by surpassing six dollars per gallon in the United States for the first time. This milestone represents a significant increase in fuel costs in the country.

Several factors contributed to this historic rise. The war in the Middle East has been causing instability in global energy markets. Accompanying this trend was the general rise in crude oil prices worldwide.

Ukraine's attacks on Russian refineries also played an important role in this scenario. These actions affected the global supply of refined products, contributing to pressure on prices.

This new record in diesel prices comes amid a context of growing inflationary pressure in the United States, where consumers face increasing costs in transportation and logistics.
